Warsaw, Poland, November 18,2024 – As the space industry witnesses unprecedented growth in the number of operational satellites and expands its commercial and scientific activities, the need for effective in-orbit servicing solutions has become increasingly urgent. PIAP Space has responded to this demand with its advanced Docking System, designed to significantly enhance satellite longevity, serviceability, and overall mission sustainability. Through this Docking System, PIAP Space enables satellite operators to extend mission lifespans, perform critical repairs, conduct refuelling operations, and manage end-of-life deorbiting processes more effectively. This capability supports sustainable practices in space, helping to address the challenge of orbital debris while maximizing the return on investment for satellite stakeholders.

PIAP Space is a Polish governmental company established in 2017. PIAP Space is an EU leader in space robotics systems for orbital and planetary solutions. The company developed the robotic arm TITAN for ESA and different end-effectors such as grippers for In-Orbit Servicing. The LARIS gripper, developed in the EROSS + project, for catching the LAR of the satellite is currently the most advanced subsystem in the EU. PIAP Space has wide experience in European collaboration projects and as a WP Leader, for instance, EROSS, EROSS+, and EROSS IOD/SC, I3Ds, and PRO-ACT projects for Horizon Programs. PIAP Space is also prime for ESA projects in the area of space robotics, such as TITAN (development of robotic arm for IOS – just finished at 5/6 TRL), MANUS (robotic manipulator breadboard for ARGONAUT mission), INORT (Feasibility Study and Roadmap for critical technologies in In-Orbit Refuelling), RAVEN (Feasibility Study for national Orbital Transfer Vehicle) as well as ESA project. PIAP Space is also a provider of the LARIS gripper for the ENDURANCE mission coordinated by Infinite Orbits for CNES.
